Modern Muses is an original gouache portrait series inspired by the elegance, symbolism, and playful glamour of Mahjong culture.

Painted in 2026, each muse embodies her own distinct personality through bold color palettes, oversized statement sunglasses, and stylized fashion-inspired details that celebrate luck, charm, confidence, and playful sophistication. The series blends modern femininity with whimsical storytelling, transforming traditional Mahjong motifs into sophisticated contemporary portraiture.

While minimal in composition, the paintings are intentionally rich in color, symbolism, and personality. Flat graphic shapes meet luxurious details, creating artwork that feels both playful and refined like collectible fashion illustrations suspended between fine art and design.
